These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Speakey, a desktop dictation application (“Software”) developed and distributed by Slipwave Group LLC (“Company”, “we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Upon purchase, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to install and use the Software on up to three (3) machines owned or controlled by you, for personal or commercial use. Each license key is tied to a single user account.
The Software includes a 15-day free trial with full functionality. No credit card is required. After the trial period, a valid license key is required to continue using the Software.
You may not:
Your license includes all future updates to the Software at no additional cost. Auto-updates are opt-in and can be enabled or disabled in Settings. The update mechanism only checks the current version number against the server — no user data is transmitted.
The Software processes all audio and transcription locally on your machine. No audio, transcripts, or usage data are transmitted to our servers or any third party. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SLIPWAVE GROUP LLC BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE LICENSE.
We may terminate your license if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies. Sections 7, 8, and 10 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in the State of Texas.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
